Beautiful, sharp, and very luxurious… It is largely self-sufficient: The meat you eat here has been raised on the property, the vegetables grown in the orchard, the salami cured in the cellars, the wine harvested in the estate's vineyard. Furthermore, all are organically grown…The cuisine is exquisite, worthy of a Michelin star or even two…The Tuscan roots are never far, especially through the wonderful ingredients, but the execution by chef/owner Susan Grant is extraordinarily contemporary. Here we found delicate textures, daring combinations, and a true feel for what is right. The finesse is extraordinary, and every dish has an incredible vibrancy.

A Tasting at Petraia is always a true gastronomic adventure, a multi-course tasting menu prepared with fresh ingredients the property is offering at the time. Reservations are required at least 72 hours in advance. To view a sample menu see below.
We offer patio dining with a breathtaking view of the Tuscan countryside as well as an intimate dining room adjacent to Chef Susan McKenna Grant’s kitchen.
Susan has trained at Le Cordon Bleu, Le Centre de Formation d’Alain Ducasse and L'École Lenôtre in Paris, L'École Française de Boulangerie d'Aurillac in the Auvergne region of France, and the Étoile Institute in Italy’s Veneto.
Ingredients used in her kitchen come directly from the property and include wild boar, Cinta Senese (a local breed of endangered pig), hare, quail, pheasant, chicken, chestnuts, honey, mushrooms and herbs, as well as a plethora of fruits and vegetables both domestically grown and wildly foraged. The property is being run according to strict organic and biodynamic principles and is certified organic.
